Adjudicator - Simon Gilliver
A graduate of the University of Birmingham and Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Simon Gilliver moved to Bournemouth from London in 2020. He enjoys a dual career as a flautist and pianist.
As a pianist, he works primarily as an accompanist, with a wealth of experience playing for exams, diplomas, festivals and choirs, and in recitals has collaborated with an array of international artists.
On the flute, he won the Albert Cooper International Flute competition in 2006, and now does mostly freelance orchestral playing.
Simon has over 20 years teaching experience, and currently teaches both privately from his Bournemouth studio, and in schools. While in London, Simon taught for many years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Simon is well known to young musicians locally, as the Assistant Director of Poole Society for Young Musicians and Director of PSYM Symphonic Winds.
